What you’ll do:
  • Direct and oversee the release management processes for a diverse portfolio of games across various genres, platforms, and markets
  • Prioritize and allocate resources effectively to ensure the successful delivery of each game
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to align release strategy with the division's overall business objectives
  • Develop and regularly update a long-term release roadmap, incorporating input from the production, marketing, and technology teams
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for games release management for internal and external stakeholders
  • Foster strong relationships and effective communication channels to ensure alignment and seamless collaboration throughout the release process
  • Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of Release Managers, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement
  • Continuously assess and optimize release management processes to improve efficiency, reduce risks, and enhance the overall quality of game releases
  • Ensure that all game releases strictly adhere to the compliance requirements and certification standards set by key platform holders and regulatory bodies
  • Identify and assess potential risks associated with game releases, develop contingency plans, and monitor risk status
  • Establish and maintain a comprehensive reporting system to track key release metrics and analyze release data
  • Collaborate with the production department and others to create accurate game release projections
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key vendors and partners involved in the game release process
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive knowledge management system for the Release Management department
What you need to succeed:
  • 8+ years experience in game release management for premium publishing
  • Proven track record of successfully managing the release of multiple premium video game titles across various platforms and markets
  • Strong understanding of video game development processes, including production, QA, and certification
  • In-depth knowledge of platform-specific requirements (e.g., PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo, and so on) and industry regulations
  • Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with the ability to mentor and motivate a team of Release Managers
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate potential risks associated with game releases
  • Proficiency in project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) and tools (like JIRA and Microsoft Project)
  • Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Strategic thinking and decision-making skills, with the ability to align release strategies with business objectives
  • Familiarity with budgeting, forecasting, and financial management principles
  • Excellent video game industry network within studios and platform holders
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
